Regulation of ribosomal gene transcription.

چکیده
In eukaryotic cells, ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene is transcribed by RNA polymerase I (pol I) in the nucleolus as a large (40 S-47 S) precursor RNA (pre-rRNA) (for reviews, see refs. [1,2]). The mature rRNA species (28 S, 18 S and 5.8 S) are formed after a series of specific endonucleolytic cleavage reactions (for a review, see ref. [3]). The rRNA gene (rDNA) is highly reiterated and is arranged in a tandem array in clusters of headto-tail repeats. Each transcription unit is separated from the next unit by an intergenic spacer that ranges in size from 2 kb to over 30 kb. The transcriptionally active rRNA genes can be visualized in electron micrographic spreads of nucleolar chromatin as structures resembling Christmas trees where the rRNA gene, functional RNA pol I molecules and growing RNA chains can be observed as discrete entities [4]. Ribosomal RNA accounts for

Gene regulation network fitting of genes involved in the pathophysiology of fatty liver in the mice by promoter mining
Background and Aim: Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) is the major cause of chronic liver disease in developed countries. In this study, we identified the most important transcription factors and biological mechanisms affecting the incidence of fatty liver disease using the promoter region data mining. Materials and Methods In this study, at first, the marker genes associated with this...
متن کاملIn Silico Genome-Wide Screening for TnrA-Regulated Genes of Bacillus clausii
Bacillus clausii TnrA transcription factor is required for global nitrogen regulation. In order to obtain anoverview of gene regulation by TnrA in B. clausii KSMK16, the entire genome of B. clausii was screened forthe consensus sequence, 5’-TGTNAN7TNACA-3’ known as the TnrA box, and 13 transcription units werefound containing a putative TnrA box. The TnrA targets identified in...
متن کاملFunctional Analysis of a Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) MYB Transcription Factor Involved in the Regulation of Anthocyanin Biosynthesis
Background: Pomegranate fruit (Punica granatum L.) is a rich source of anthocyanin pigments resulting in vibrant colours and anti-oxidant contents. Although the intensity and pattern of anthocyanin biosynthesis in fruit are strongly influenced by R2R3-MYB transcription factors, little is known about the regulation and role of MYB in anthocyanin pathway of pomegranate. Objectives: The present st...
متن کاملTranscription of growth hormone mRNA as a molecular marker of egg quality in Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii)
The Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii) is an economically important species. Sturgeon stockassessment during fingerling production is considered to be one of the most difficult phases ofhatchery rearing. The present study investigated the expression of growth hormone (GH)mRNA in unfertilized eggs, fertilized eggs, eyed eggs (2 day before hatching), non-viable eggsand newly-hatched Siberian st...
متن کاملTranscriptional regulation in eukaryotic ribosomal protein genes.
Understanding ribosomal protein gene regulation provides a good avenue for understanding gene regulatory networks. Even after 5 decades of research on ribosomal protein gene regulation, little is known about how higher eukaryotic ribosomal protein genes are coordinately regulated at the transcriptional level. However, a few recent papers shed some light on this complicated problem.
متن کاملMapping of Transcription Factor Binding Region of Kappa Casein (CSN3) Gene in Iranian Bacterianus and Dromedaries Camels
κ-casein is a glycosilated protein in mammalian milk that plays an essential role in the milk micelles. Control of κ-casein expression reflects this essential role, although an understanding of the mechanisms involved lags behind that of the other milk protein genes. Transcriptional regulation, a first mechanism for controlling the development of organisms, is carried out by transcription facto...
